Questions
Can I just walk into a church?
Yes. Almost every church welcomes visitors at its public services, and you don't need to tell anyone you're coming. Arrive a few minutes early, sit wherever you like, and join in as much or as little as you're comfortable with. Each church's page says what to expect there, in its own words.
What time are church services on Sunday?
Most Sunday services are in the morning. Across the 2,252 churches with published Sunday times, the most common start times are 10am, 9:30am and 9am, and 446 also have a Sunday evening service. Times vary, so check the church's page before you go.
How do I find the right church for me?
Start with what makes it easy to go: a time that suits you and a place close by. Then think about what matters to you, such as a tradition you know, the style of music, groups for kids, youth or young adults, or services in your language. Many churches put their sermons online, so you can watch one first. It's normal to visit a few before you settle.
How long is a church service?
Most services run for about an hour to an hour and a half. A Catholic Mass is usually 45 minutes to an hour, many Pentecostal services run for about 90 minutes, and an Orthodox Divine Liturgy can be longer. Each church's page lists its service times.
